Your 1-2 page paper should address the following questions:
- What was going on in their home country at the time they left? What were the social, economic, and political conditions at that time?
- Was there an internal conflict or other strife?
- Did the United States play any role?
Many immigrants retain vivid accounts of their travels along with their reasons for leaving their country of origin. One can question, what kinds of circumstances prompt individuals to relocate to a new country? For the second part of your research project, investigate the country from which your interviewee immigrated. Research and detail these events in a 1-2 page paper and be sure to address the following questions:
