Part 1

“To become an integral part of the instructional process, assessments cannot be a one-shot, do-or-die experience for students. Instead, assessments must be part of an ongoing effort to help students learn. And, if teachers follow assessments with helpful corrective instruction, they should have a second chance to demonstrate their new level of competence and understanding” (Guskey, 2003).

Use the questions to guide an original response and comments on the posts of at least two classmates.

  • Describe how you have created and/or utilized assessments to guide student learning. What, steps and resources did you use?
